The owner of Time magazine has criticized Kamala Harris for refusing to sit down for an interview with the publication.
Marc Benioff wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Despite multiple requests, TIME has not been granted an interview with Kamala Harris—unlike every other presidential candidate.
“We believe in transparency and publish each interview in full. Why isn’t the Vice President engaging with the public on the same level?”
The magazine published an interview with Donald Trump in April and with President Joe Biden in June before he dropped out of the race.
Harris faced criticism for largely avoiding the press after becoming her party’s presidential candidate in July.
However, she has been on a media tour in recent weeks, including appearances on 60 Minutes, the “Call Her Daddy” podcast and the Stephen Colbert show.
Critics have noted that most of her recent appearances, aside from 60 Minutes, have been largely softball interviews.
In a profile of Harris published on Friday, Time reporter Charlotte Alter hinted at Harris’ refusal to sit down with the magazine.
“When she does do interviews, she mostly favors local media, culture podcasts, or friendly talk shows,” Alter wrote. “In contrast, Trump talked about his policy vision with a TIME reporter for 90 minutes across two interviews. Biden spoke to TIME at similar length before dropping out of the race.”
