Gone are the days when parents became empty nesters after high school graduation.
Today, more than half of parents support their adult children financially with many living at home. A new survey from Retirement Investments finds two in five parents still have an adult child living in their home, and close to 90% don’t see that changing any time soon.
“Do you think the mindset is kind of changing too, given the financial circumstances — what it costs to buy a home, how high interest rates are, how expensive groceries are? I mean, are we as a society sort of shifting our mindset about what should happen in adulthood?” WJAR asked.
