With last week’s Pentagon announcement of another eye-watering $1.1 billion in security assistance to Ukraine, the US has committed more than $16.2 billion in defense aid since Russia’s invasion in February. And while some of that money covers training and other personnel issues, a majority of it is in cold, hard weapons systems — from HIMARS long-range artillery to anti-tank Javelins to over 60 million rounds of small arms ammunition.
