Former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort pleaded not guilty Friday to new charges of witness tampering brought by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.
During a hearing in federal court in the District of Columbia before Judge Amy Berman Jackson, Manafort, who is free on $10 million bail, pleaded not guilty to the new round of charges, filed last week against him and his associate, Konstantin Kilimnik of Moscow.
Mueller accused them of obstructing justice in the investigation into Russian meddling and potential collusion with Trump campaign associates in 2016.
Jackson is expected to rule on bail status for Manafort, and could order him detained until his trial.
