Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School held its senior prom in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Saturday night, nearly three months after a gunman killed 17 people and injured numerous others at the school.
The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort hosted 850 of Stoneman Douglas students, according to The Sun-Sentinel.
The publication reports that the hotel’s ballroom was adorned with trees, and included actors dressed as forest creatures and fairies.
The absence of the four seniors killed in the school’s shooting earlier this year was felt throughout the festivities.
